Hailing from San Diego, post hardcore/screamo outfit Pierce The Veil have had a busy year. They released their sophmore album, Selfish Machines, on June 21st, right before they did a stint on the ever-popular Vans Warped Tour. The band then traveled across the world to take on crowds in Australia and Japan, before returning to the US to tour with Attack Attack!, Emmure, Of Mice & Men, and In Fear and Faith.
Post hardcore rock band We Came As Romans will celebrate the start of 2011 by headling the Motel 6 “Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour” (don’t you just love it when tours have really creative names with plays on words?). The five-week, thirty-two city tour kicks off January 6th in Pontiac, Michigan and wraps up February 11th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sponsored by Motel 6 and Primary Wave Music, the tour provides We Came As Romans, as well as all supporting bands, with free accomodations for every night on the road.

The popular publication that brings you all the latest and best in alternative, punk, and indie rock, Alternative Press Magazine, is sponsoring yet another one of its amazing tours. This time it’s a brief holiday extravaganza starting on December 1st and rocking on through to December 19th. “The Christmas Pageant” tour will feature crunk rockers Family Force Five alongside hilarious pop-punkers Forever The Sickest Kids. Special guests Secondhand Serenade and Shorelines End will also make appearances on the festive tour.
Goodbye To The Rank And File is the latest album from Casey Neill and the Norway Rats and it is a dandy. Featuring guest appearances by R.E.M. touring musician Scott McCaughey and Talkdemonic’s Lisa Molinaro, combined with outstanding permanent members of The Norway Rats that include The Decemberists’ Jenny Conlee and the Lucinda Williams Band’s guitar player, Chet Lyster, the album is a delightful mix of rich harmonies, touching lyrics, and bellowing vocals.
For all you long-time ska/punk loving children of the early 90’s have we got some fun for you. In early November, two of ska and punk’s most important and relevant bands will be playing four shows together on the west coast. That’s right, Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger are joining forces for four nights of all out musical debauchery. The fun begins on November 3rd at the House of Blues in San Diego, then carries on November 4th in Los Angeles, November 6th in San Louis Obispo, and finally on November 7th in Las Vegas.
Currently on the “Can We Do Laundry At Your House?” tour, uber addictive pop rockers You, Me, And Everyone We Know are getting ready for the much anticipated release of their new album Some Things Don’t Wash Out on October 12th. To get a small taste of how rad this record is going to be, go to TCDCmedia.com where they are currently offering an exclusive stream of the ridiculously awesome new tune “Bigger Point of Pride” (seriously I’ve been listening to it on repeat for the past 40 minutes). In addition, if you reblog the post at TCDCmedia.com you will automatically be entered into a contest to win the new album. Click to for Dates of the Tour!
