You’re all aware of the World Series of Baseball, but some of you music fanatics may be more interested in the first inagural World Series of Music. Entertainment29 in conjunction with Whitestone Studios is thrilled to present this enticing contest designed for unsigned artists and bands to showcase their music and garner fans. From now until February 28th, 2011, bands can submit their music for review. Out of all the entries, a panel of music industry insiders will select the the top sixty-four artists and bands who will go on to compete in an online live “real time” tournament. The tournament begins Tuesday, March 1st, and there will be a five-day voting period for each round of the tournament. The final eight artists and bands will compete at a one-day live event to be announced at a later date. The winner receives a production contract to record with top producer Noel Golden (Edwin McCain, Matchbox 20, Guns ‘n Roses). The recording process gives Entertainment29 the opportunity to shop the band or artist to major and independent record labels alike. The World Series of Music gets a full year of management and a whole list of other prizes. There is a $15 entrance fee.
